A Finance Manager has many responsibilities and qualifications inside the workplace, and the job listing I found here in Las Cruces reflects that clearly. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field to be considered for the job. This is both understandable, but also somewhat aggressive in nature. I selected this job posting because it directly aligns with my current major and long-term career goals. In terms of job selection, a finance manager role would definitely be at the top of my list.

I am currently a freshman at NMSU, and although my time has been limited, I feel that I have already gained a quality amount of experience. The job posting emphasizes the need for qualified individuals, especially those working toward or holding a degree in finance. While I am only one fourth of the way through my degree, I have attended multiple academic events and gained valuable knowledge that I believe will allow me to be an asset in the future. My experience goes hand in hand with this role, as I have done extensive research on the career itself. It is my first choice within the finance field, with stock brokerage being a close second. Through my accounting coursework and my deeper analysis of economics, I have started to build a strong foundation. The main area I currently lack is professional work experience, which I plan to improve by pursuing an internship in the near future.
